Custom software

Need something built?

The useful thing your business needs, that off-the-shelf software doesn't quite do.

Twenty years building software. You bring the idea or the problem; I plan, design and build the thing.

Get in touch

Usually it's one of these

A website

A fast, custom site for a business that needs a proper presence, a clearer story or more than a template can comfortably do.Marketing sites, content sites, interactive tools

A web app

A customer-facing product with accounts, data and business logic - from a focused utility to a larger platform.Portals, products, self-service

An internal system

Software for the team: manage work, see what is happening and replace the spreadsheet that quietly became critical infrastructure.Dashboards, job management, admin tools

The bit between systems

A purpose-built connection or interface when the software you already pay for stops just short of how your business works.Integrations, APIs, custom interfaces

I use AI to move faster. The judgement stays with me.

I reach for it every day on the parts of a build that suit it. What to build, how it should work, what needs testing and how to leave it maintainable still sits with me.

If the finished product needs an AI feature, I can build that in. If it doesn't, I won't bolt one on for the sake of it.

I build workflows and set up assistants too.

Twenty years of software work

I've worked across the whole build, from the data underneath to the interface people use.

From idea to working software

My experience runs from public websites and interactive tools to customer-facing products and the internal systems behind them. I build complete features, including the database and server work behind the interface, and I'm comfortable taking an idea from its first rough outline through to launch.

Websites, end to end

That covered design, front end, back end and the Craft CMS setup behind them.

Robot Fights Monster

An animation production collective with a filterable showcase for a large and growing body of work.

Embers

A content-rich wedding catering site with galleries, testimonials, enquiries and CRM integration.

A bold layered smokehouse sandwich framed by crooked cream lines on black.
Shambles Kitchen

A busy food business site built around menus, location, catering and content the team could manage themselves.

What it costs

A focused utility and a multi-user platform aren't the same job, so they don't share a price. After a free call I work out what the project involves and give you a scope, a timeline and a fixed price before anything starts.

One person, start to finish

It starts the same way every job here does: a free call, no charge.

  1. Talk it through

You show me the idea, the problem and what already exists. I'll tell you on the call if I don't think I'm the right person to build it.

  2. Shape the project

I turn that into a scope, an approach, a timeline and a fixed price.

  3. Design and build

You see the work as it develops. We settle the decisions that matter early, while they're still cheap to change.

  4. Launch it properly

We test it, launch it and agree the handover, hosting and support it needs.

What do you need built?

A rough idea is enough. Tell me what it is, who it's for and what you need it to do.
